Paragon Education is a nursing continuing education (CE) company located in Petaluma, CA, (above San Francisco), established in 2005. We are a woman-owned business dedicated to empowering critical care & emergency nurses in their practice. Our goal is to make nursing education applicable and practical, as well as engaging and entertaining. We seek always to increase your knowledge, expand your understanding and enhance your practice performance.
WHY IS PARAGON EDUCATION DIFFERENT?
Paragon's Certification Review courses (CEN, CPEN, TCRN, CCRN) are presented in a question/answer format, which exactly mimics the style, language and content of the actual tests. Our program is interactive and fast-paced, with memorable visuals to help reinforce your learning and recall.
We offer in-person, live webinar and on-demand events in both one and two-day formats for all of our certification review courses. You can choose to be part of an interactive program, or relax in your pajamas at 3am-whatever works best for you.
WHO TEACHES THE CLASSES?

ACCREDITATION?
Paragon Education is accredited by the California BRN (#CEP 14156) and by the Florida BRN (#50-21623), as a Provider of continuing nursing education. Paragon Education is also an approved California EMS CE (Provider #49-0077).
WHO CAN TAKE THE CERTIFICATION COURSES?
Our courses are open to any RN preparing for their certification (CEN, CPEN, TCRN, CCRN) examination, and for any nurse interested in reviewing the concepts and standards of care necessary for critical-care nursing practice. There is no RN practice requirement for taking the CEN, CPEN or TCRN exam, and in fact, we often get new grads who are looking to impress a future ED employer by having already taken this class and obtaining their certification. (https://bcen.org/)
The CCRN exam requires that “candidates practice as an RN or APRN for 1,750 hours in direct care of acutely/critically ill adult patients during the previous two years; or for at least five years with a minimum of 2,000 hours in direct care of acutely/critically ill adult patients.” (https://www.aacn.org/certification/get-certified/ccrn-adult)
CAN YOU GUARANTEE THAT ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL PASS THE EXAM?
Of course not. It is the responsibility of individual participants to take the necessary time to review study & gain mastery of the required topics.
HOW MUCH TIME IS REQUIRED TO STUDY FOR THE EXAM AFTER THE CLASS?
Although our class gives the participants the foundational information they need to succeed on their exam, there is still an considerable amount of material to review and comprehend. We recommend a minimum of 1-2 months to review and prepare for the exam, after attending our classes.
DO I HAVE TO BE AN ENA OR AACN MEMBER TO TAKE THE TEST?
No, but there is a reduced rate for the exams and re-certifications as a professional organization member.
WHAT'S YOUR SUCCESS RATE FOR PEOPLE TAKING THE EXAM?
Our current success rate for our past participants passing the CEN, CPEN, TCRN and CCRN exams is approximately 92%.
ARE YOUR REVIEW CLASSES CURRENT?
Yes. All of our certification-prep classes reflect the most recent test-content outlines.
CAN YOU CREATE A CUSTOMIZED CLASS?
Of course. We would be happy to speak with you about creating a customized program on any emergency or critical care topic.
CAN YOU COME TO OUR FACILITY?
We can work with you to bring a presentation to your facility with no financial obligation. Your facility can "host" a class, that would be open, not only to your own staff, but to outside nurses, too. This is also a great recruitment and promotional event, so that other nurses from outside facilities get to see your site. Read More
